Networking & Messaging Infrastructure Design & Development

Atlanta Cancer Care engaged Intellinet to design, implement and architect an Active Directory system configured for their wide area network to pass critical data in compliance with the new HIPAA regulations. Utilizing GRE tunnels with IPSEC encryption on CISCO hardware and Nokia platforms, this architecture works seamlessly with services such as WINS, DNS, DHCP, OWA, and VPN.
Applications Website Strategy & Delivery

Atlanta Cancer Care is dedicated to delivering the best medical information to the public. With this in mind, they engaged Intellinet to help build their corporate website presence. This project provided Atlanta Cancer Care with a strategic roadmap, site prototype, and site map that allows users access to corporate information and interactive content regarding patient services.
Networking Security Implementation

With the onset of new viruses and hackers ability to penetrate their current firewall, Atlanta Cancer Care felt their current systems were vulnerable to outside attack. Intellinet was engaged to provide a solution running CheckPoint FireWall-1 for their IT infrastructure. This included configuration of all existing systems, the creation of a security policy on the firewall, mapping the administrator workstation and training ACC personnel on how to manage the firewall system architecture.

Wireless Strategy & Deployment

Atlanta Cancer Care’s staff of doctors needed to be able to effectively access patient information from any of their seven locations. Intellinet assisted Atlanta Cancer Care with a wireless strategy and deployment of Tablet PCs. The hardware was equipped with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition software combined with writing and speech recognition tools. ACC doctors can now "interact", receive and share real-time patient information with other doctors or staff.

Enterprise Healthcare Management Application

Club Staffing has experienced rapid growth since the mid 90’s – staffing tens of thousands of radiological technicians to nationwide hospitals each year, with hundreds of thousands of permutations for HIPPA regulations, housing, payment structure, and assignment details. Club Staffing needed a web-based, access-anywhere solution to track hospital clients, traveling technicians, and all related assignments and housing information. They also needed a way to track the paperwork, letter generation, and internal reports required to comply with government regulations, and to enhance the level of customer service. Intellinet developed a three-tier ASP.NET application with SQL Server 2000 on the backend. This allowed Club Staffing personnel to efficiently and effectively track, report, analyze and interact with their internal staff, clients, and partners with greater certainty of correct and timely data. Intellinet extended beyond the basics of ASP.NET and created a custom application that also integrates with Club’s financial package. Additional technologies used: ADO.NET, XML, XSL.

Columbus Regional Medical Center engaged Intellinet to give strategic guidance and delivery services in the design and build of their hospital Intranet in order to improve the storage, organization and access of mission-critical information needed by personnel on a daily basis. Intellinet worked with CRMC personnel to design a scalable, company-wide web application that seamlessly interfaced with their current systems. A staging and production environment was created so end users can enter content rather than waiting on the “web master” to make needed changes. The new system has advanced analysis features, a stable architecture assuring reliability and manageability, and will receive and publish content dynamically.

Internet Web Content Management

To better manage and post information to their internet site in a controlled manner, Piedmont needed to employ an effective content management system. Intellinet architected and developed an XML-based system that allowed authorized staff to manage, users, groups and web content from any internet-ready computer. Users can now edit, submit and publish content to the site, thus taking the burden off the IT group alone as the point of contact.
Data Enterprise Reporting

Piedmont Medical Center required a reporting solution that would allow hospital administrators, physicians and executives to analyze data related to patient volumes and charges. Intellinet extracted data from the Piedmont legacy database into a SQL Server 2000 environment to create a business intelligence solution. This solution provided Piedmont executives with an easy-to-use solution for graphically analyzing data by business dimensions such as hospital, physician, DRG, and time. Using an open business intelligence framework, Intellinet created a secure, customizable portal environment to perform analysis of uniform data. End-users now have the ability to easily generate reports and make timely decisions due to the reduction in lag time between data input and availability.

Application Architecture Strategy

Piedmont engaged Intellinet to help build a solid application architecture for hosting and developing n-tier applications for integration to their Intranet. Intellinet deployed a sever infrastructure to support the development effort and provided internal hosting resources. Guidelines were established to recommend how applications should evolve to maximize the use of the new environment. The implementation of a global security object and enterprise search solution allows reuse by future application builds, and examination of internal and external content, respectively.

Clinical Data Repository Reporting

Piedmont Hospital engaged Intellinet to provide a proof-of-concept architecture and reporting system to produce real-time reports from an existing patient care system (Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM), and other ancillary systems which interface with SCM). Intellinet architected a Citrix thin-client solution using VB.NET, SQL Server, and a combination of Crystal Reports and Microsoft’s Reporting Services to build this integrated reporting architecture. The new architecture allows Piedmont doctors and other healthcare personnel to view real time reports and other integrated content through the SCM interface.
Networking Infrastructure Systems Management Solution

Piedmont Hospital asked Intellinet to guide them through the design and deployment of their Microsoft SMS installation for systems management. Piedmont has approximately 1,700 devices in more than 10 physical sites. They needed to be able to report on software inventory at the desktop level, know when software changes are made to desktop computers, and control the delivery of new patches and core systems. By deploying Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, Intellinet enabled Piedmont to manage all of these requests as well as provide an efficient way to track software inventory and hardware assets.

Infrastructure Strategy Architecture - Microsoft

For several years Providence Hospital had its core technology systems managed by HCA. In 2003, it decided to take back architectural and administrative control of its IT systems. Providence engaged Intellinet to architect, build, and deploy its corporate infrastructure and new hospital Intranet, utilizing Microsoft’s Windows 2003, Active Directory, Exchange 2003, and Sharepoint 2003. Providence was able to leverage these tools and the Intellinet healthcare best practices to build a scalable foundation from the ground up. Additionally, this new system provided Providence management with additional levels of security for the newly enforced HIPAA requirements.
Collaboration Hospital Portal – Intranet Strategy & Deployment

Providence Hospital had a custom developed Intranet using Microsoft Visual Studio for all content and document posting. As the scope and content requirements of the Intranet grew, Providence knew that it had to leverage a packaged application to maintain all content, publishing, security, discussions, document storage, search, and integrated custom applications. Providence called on its technology partner Intellinet to build an Intranet strategy that leveraged its current Microsoft infrastructure. Microsoft’s Intranet portal software, Sharepoint 2003, was deployed and all content was redirected and integrated into this new portal environment. By leveraging the built-in functions of the SharePoint application and Intellinet packaged extension, management of the site has been significantly reduced while allowing for much greater productivity by IT and other business units.
